Getting There

How to Get from Milan to Our Meeting Point in Como.

Our Lake Como day tour starts and ends at Como San Giovanni railway station. From Milan it is a short direct train ride. Here is which station and which train to take.

The Meeting Point: Como San Giovanni Station

Como San Giovanni is the main railway station of Como, on Piazzale San Gottardo. Your driver meets you here with the Mercedes V-Class, and the day ends back at the same station. We send the exact time and the meeting spot in your confirmation email.

By Train from Milano Centrale

  • Direct trains run from Milano Centrale to Como San Giovanni through the day.
  • The journey takes about 40 minutes.
  • On your ticket and on the departure board, look for Como S. Giovanni (sometimes shortened to Como S.G.).
  • From Milano Porta Garibaldi, trains to Como San Giovanni take about an hour.

Be Careful: Como Has Two Main Stations

Como has two main railway stations: Como San Giovanni and Como Nord Lago. Trains from Milano Cadorna go to Como Nord Lago, which is not our meeting point. If you arrive there by mistake, Como San Giovanni is on the higher ground behind the town, roughly a 15-minute walk from the lakefront. Check the station name before you pay for your ticket.

From Milan’s Airports

The simplest way is to reach Milano Centrale first. From Malpensa that is usually the Malpensa Express, and from Linate a bus, a taxi or the metro. Then take the direct train to Como San Giovanni. Check current timetables before you travel.

Tickets

Buy your ticket in advance in the Trenord or Trenitalia app, on their websites, or at the machines in the station. Regional train tickets cost only a few euros.

Plan Your Arrival

  • Take a train that arrives at least 30 minutes before the meeting time. Delays happen.
  • Check for rail strikes (sciopero) on the days you travel.
  • After the tour, check the last trains back to Milan before you plan your evening.
