This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit lakesideitaly.com, contact us, or book the Lakeside Italy day tour.
3. The data we collect
- Contact details you send us: your name, email address, and phone or WhatsApp number.
- Booking details: preferred dates, number of guests, the names of guests, and confirmation of payment. We do not store card numbers, because payments are handled by payment providers.

- Messages and correspondence between you and us.
- Basic technical data collected by our website host (see section 9).
4. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and organize your booking: this is necessary for a contract or for steps taken before a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To meet our legal obligations, such as tax, accounting and tourism regulations (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To protect our rights, prevent misuse and defend legal claims: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To use dietary or health information you give us: your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- To send you news or offers, only if you ask us to: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers: Google (Google Workspace, for email), Automattic (WordPress.com, which hosts this website), and WeTravel and its payment processors if you pay through a payment link.
- Restaurants and transport partners: only what is needed to run your tour, such as your name, the number of guests and any dietary needs.

We do not sell your personal data.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Some of our providers, for example Google and Automattic, may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States. When they do, they rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months.
- Booking and invoicing records: 10 years, as required by Italian accounting and tax law.
- Dietary and health information: deleted after the tour, unless we need it to handle a claim.
- News or offers: until you ask us to stop.
8. Your rights
You have the right to ask us for access to your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
9. Cookies and external links
This website is hosted by WordPress.com, which may use essential cookies and collect anonymous visit statistics to run and protect the site. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies of our own. Some links, such as our Google and WeTravel reviews and WhatsApp, open other services, which have their own privacy policies.
